Carpe Diem is a pioneer in the Gap Year field that takes post-high school students on educational semesters around the globe.
Their website and collateral didn’t convey their leadership in the space, and with so many competitors, all using great photography from far away places, it was hard for them to stand out.


The mark.
We wanted to help create a simple, memorable logo for them that paid homage to the exciting indigenous destinations without co-opting any cultures, or appearing to focus on any one region. The result was a rustic “CD” that could easily be reproduced and celebrated by students. Since then it has shown up as a tattoo on at least one enthusiastic student, that’s when you know you’ve created a cultural brand...sorry Mom & Dad.
